Assistance to citizens abroad

The social assistance service is intended for Italian citizens who find themselves in a situation of poverty. Italian citizens can receive (exceptionally) financial or other help from the Consulate to overcome a temporary difficulty.

Requests for consular assistance (NOT IT assistance) must be sent to the address sanfrancisco.assistenza@esteri.it, specifying any information which might be useful for the Consular Office.

Inquiries from foreign nationals and in any case inquiries for general information and/or consular services (including appointment requests for passports, visas, etc.) received on the emergency hotline or the Consular Assistance Office mailbox will not be answered.
