The Consulate General of Italy in San Francisco 2.0 – 2024 remodeling

SFONDO INAUGURAZIONE corretto
Design, Innovation and Sustainability are the key elements of the Consulate General of Italy in San Francisco Remodeling 2024.
Leveraging on the recent works on some structural parts of the building, that have been made possible thanks to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy, the project of the remodeling of the CG has been conceived and carried out by Architect Simone Mazzetto.
The focus has been the re-designing of the main public areas with the dual goal, on one side, of making the spaces more efficient and fit for events, meetings, displays and presentations, on the other, of giving a more modern and innovative picture about today’s Italy and its cultural, economic and scientific vibrant realities.
At the main floor a new Multimedia/Conference Hall (the so called “Sala del Camino” – Fireplace Hall) has been created and connected with the beautiful courtyard through door windows. A new kitchen for catering services for events has been made.
At the first floor the Boardroom (Sala di Rappresentanza) and the Lobby have been refreshed and modernized to host events, meetings and even small exhibitions. The refurbishment also describes the large and diverse geography of the Italian Consular jurisdiction covering the North-Western-Pacific States of the US.
Furnished by Pianca and Tessoria Asolana and illuminated by Artemide, the new spaces aim at showing and outlining the most innovative products developed by Italian manufacturers and Companies.
The result perfectly highlights the unique way the Made in Italy and the Italian designers and manufacturers know how to combine aesthetics with innovation, technology and sustainability and how to match these features with beautiful historical building decorations.
The “cherry on top” of the project is a permanent exhibition along the main staircase that describes the story of the Italian discoveries and innovations that changed the world during the ages up to today, to underline the endless passion of Italians for creativity.
