On March 28, 2020 the Minister of Health and Minister of Infrastructure and Transport issued an order (in italiano) containing rigorous provisions for those entering Italy and precise organizational measures that carriers and shipowners must adopt, in order to counter the spread of Covid-19. This order follows the Decree 120/2020 (in Italian) of the MInister of Infrastructure and Transport and the MInister of Health prescribing a self-isolation period of 14 days for people returning to Italy from abroad.
