Excellence in Italian wine took center stage in San Francisco as the 2026 Tre Bicchieri tour by Gambero Rosso arrived at the Fort Mason Center on February 26, bringing together producers, industry professionals, and enthusiasts to celebrate the finest expressions of Italian enology.

Recognized worldwide as one of the most prestigious distinctions in Italian wine, the Tre Bicchieri awards honor labels that represent the highest standards of quality, craftsmanship, and character. The San Francisco stop showcased an exceptional selection of award-winning wines, highlighting the richness and diversity of Italy’s wine regions while underscoring the dynamic balance between tradition and innovation that defines contemporary Italian winemaking.

Consul General Massimo Carnelos, Consul Davide Corriero and Vice Consul Gabriella Navarra attended the event, celebrating the broader culture of Italian gastronomy alongside acclaimed restaurants and bars participating in the festivities. As is tradition during the Tre Bicchieri tour, the Gambero Rosso editorial team also presented awards to some of the region’s most outstanding Italian establishments. Recognitions were granted across several categories—including restaurants, pizzerias, wine bars, and pastry shops—honoring those who contribute to promoting and preserving the excellence of Italian cuisine abroad. Together, the wines and the awards ceremony reflected the deep connection between Italian cuisine, regional identity, and a centuries-old commitment to excellence.

Special thanks were extended to Gerardo Antelmo, Luigi Salerno, and Tiina Helena Eriksson, whose dedication and collaboration helped make this year’s San Francisco edition of the Tre Bicchieri tour a memorable success.

As the tour continues to travel through major international cities, the San Francisco event reaffirmed the enduring appeal of Italian wine and its ability to bring communities, cultures, and traditions together around the shared pleasure of exceptional food and wine.
