The San Francisco community joined together to celebrate 157th annual Italian Heritage Parade, the city’s oldest civic event and a cherished tradition honoring Italian culture and contributions to the Bay Area.
From Fisherman’s Wharf to North Beach, the streets bustled with the sights and sounds of vintage Italian convertibles, marching bands, and vibrant floats. Among those in the procession were Consul General Massimo Carnelos, Deputy Consul General Davide Corriero, and Economic and Commercial Attaché Vitalba Gammicchia, who greeted spectators and joined their staff at the end of the route to welcome diplomatic, institutional, and community representatives.
The parade served as the grand finale to a series of events celebrating Italian Heritage Month, which included a Holy Mass at Saints Peter and Paul Church and a Gala Ball and Reception honoring the Queen’s Court and Explorers—the young ambassadors representing the next generation of Italian Americans.
The Consul General extended his gratitude Mayor Daniel Lurie, Assemblywoman Catherine Stefani, the Board and Grand Marshalls of the Italian Heritage Parade, and the countless volunteers who continue to strengthen the enduring bonds between the Italian Communities of San Francisco, building legacies and friendships that span generations.
