During the Italian Language Week in the World the “Italo Calvino and Sustainability” contest was launched and received with great enthusiasm by the schools. The contest came about thanks to the wonderful alliance between the School Offices of the Embassy of Italy in Washington and the Consulates General of Italy in Boston, Chicago, Miami, Philadelphia, as well as the active collaboration of the Italian Cultural Institute of San Francisco, which provided the prizes. It is aimed at students taking Italian courses in California, Texas, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Washington, Oregon, Utah, and Hawaii, from primary to secondary school (K-12).
