On October 24, the Council of Ministers has approved a new Decree to contain the health risk posed by Covid-19. On October 7, 2020 the Council of Ministers approved the extension of the state of emergency in Italy until January 31, 2021.

The Embassy recalls that pursuant to President Trump’s Proclamation on March 11, entry into the USA is still suspended for aliens coming, with few exceptions, from the Schengen area (as of March 14, also UK and Ireland). See the text of the Proclamation and check the list of exception at this link.
