The Consulate General of Italy in San Francisco, in collaboration with the Italian Institute of Culture in San Francisco, proudly participated in the screening of the film Zweitland (“A Land Within”) as part of the Berlin & Beyond German Language Film Festival. Consul General Massimo Carnelos attended the screening, along with featured actor from Alto Adige/Südtirol Thomas Prenn and the Consul of Austria, Isabella Tomás, underscoring the spirit of cross-cultural dialogue and cooperation.
Zweitland explores an important historical dispute while celebrating the enduring friendship between Italy and Austria. The screening offered an opportunity to reflect on shared history, cultural exchange, and the power of cinema to bring communities together.
