Week of Italian Cuisine in the World (SCIM) – Tenth Edition

The Consulate General of Italy in San Francisco is pleased to announce the tenth edition of the Week of Italian Cuisine in the World (SCIM). This year’s theme — “Italian cuisine between health, culture, and innovation” — celebrates an important milestone and reflects the richness and modernity of Italian gastronomy. On the occasion of its tenth anniversary, SCIM aims to present Italy’s national cuisine as a true mosaic of flavors and values, in which every ingredient tells a story tied to Italian identity.

Italian cuisine is presented as a healthy, balanced, and sustainable dietary model.
The 2025 edition highlights the research and technologies driving the Italian food supply chain: from production, processing, and distribution to reuse and recycling.

The initiative, promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, takes place worldwide to showcase Italian gastronomic excellence and strengthen the nomination of Italian cuisine as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, with results to be announced in December 2025.
