COVID-19 EMERGENCY – PUBLIC NOTICE: LIMITED OPENING HOURS

Due to the current COVID-19 public health crisis and the recent restrictions enforced by local authorities (San Francisco Public Health Order on March 16, 2020 and Executive Order N-33-20 on March 19, 2020), the Consulate General of Italy in San Francisco will be open to the public for appointments ONLY on MONDAYS WEDNESDAYS and FRIDAYS from 9 am to 2 pm starting from October 5th (or until further notice). As such, please DO NOT come to the Consulate unless we have previously confirmed your appointment.

FOR THE PASSPORT OFFICE ONLY, please refer to the instructions on this page.

In order to receive an urgent appointment for Emergency Travel Documents (ETDs), citizens MUST email the Passport Office at passaporti.sanfrancisco@esteri.it and include proof of legitimate emergency and their Scheda Consolare from their Fast.it account (if resident in our jurisdiction). Appointments for passports and/or ETDs should not be booked through PrenotaOnLine during this time.

On the day of the appointment, in order to enter the Consulate you must fill out and sign a declaration (click here to download the form) and submit it to a Consular official when you arrive at our office.

For more information, please contact our switchboard: +1 (415) 292-9200, Monday – Friday from 9 am to 4:30 pm, or email: segr.sanfrancisco@esteri.it and/or it.sanfrancisco@esteri.it.

Our emergency cell phone: +1 (415) 999-0094 is active, but please remember that this number is for Italian citizens ONLY, and is reserved for legitimate emergencies ONLY and should not be used to request information or updates.

We thank you all for your collaboration and understanding. Together we will get through this very difficult time that is affecting all of us.
