Message from the Consul General:
“It is with excitement and a profound sense of responsibility that I undertake the role of Consul General of Italy in San Francisco, with a geographic mandate that covers much of the northwestern United States and extends into the vast Pacific Ocean. It is an honor to represent my country in this fascinating part of the world, where natural beauty, history, dynamism, innovation, and technology shape multinational identities and evocative surroundings.
The history of the Italian community in San Francisco plays an intrinsic part of the success of this corner of the world; a legacy that lives over generations, through memory and in its unceasing capacity for renewal and transformation.
Along with the commitment of the entire staff of the Consulate General, I intend to serve with enthusiasm the needs of all Italians: from the descendants of our compatriots to the young people who continue to move here for study, professional, and personal reasons. It is my intention to improve, expedite, and simplify consular services for our compatriots and for all those who visit our country for a variety of reasons.
The promotion of Italy involves a comprehensive approach, from maintaining political and social relations to supporting economic interests, from encouraging cultural initiatives to promoting the Italian language and scientific cooperation. I trust that this program will be greatly successful, thanks to the commitment and expertise of the entire Italian system, comprised locally of the Consulate General, the Italian Cultural Institute, the Italian Trade Agency, the Comites, the Italian Innovation Center at INNOVIT – the first (and only, to this date) national project for the promotion of Italian innovation and technology worldwide—as well as the vast network of Italian associations.
I therefore extend a warm greeting to my dear compatriots, the authorities, and all friends of Italy.
You will find in me, and in the staff serving here, a voice that is attentive to your needs; and in the Consulate General, your new home.”
