The Consulate General was pleased to welcome a delegation from the American Chamber of Commerce in Italy (AmCham Italy) as part of an immersive business mission to San Francisco, Silicon Valley, and the U.S. West Coast aimed at exploring some of the world’s most dynamic innovation ecosystems.
The mission began at INNOVIT – Italian Innovation and Culture Hub, where the delegation was welcomed by Managing Director Alberto Acito and his team, together with Consul General Massimo Carnelos. The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss the evolving landscape of innovation diplomacy and the growing role of Italian institutions in supporting connections between Italy’s entrepreneurial ecosystem and the global innovation hub represented by Silicon Valley.
Throughout their visit to the Bay Area, delegation members engaged with leading technology companies, innovation leaders, and academic institutions, gaining first-hand insight into emerging trends in artificial intelligence, digital transformation, research, entrepreneurship, and venture ecosystems. The program offered a unique opportunity to better understand the drivers of innovation and competitiveness shaping the global economy.
Particular attention was devoted to the role of INNOVIT as a platform for fostering dialogue, collaboration, and business opportunities between Italy and the United States. Through its programs and initiatives, INNOVIT continues to support Italian companies, startups, researchers, and institutions seeking to engage with one of the world’s most advanced innovation environments.
The Consulate General extends its appreciation to AmCham’s Managing Director, Simone Crolla, his team, and all members of the delegation for their commitment to strengthening transatlantic economic relations and promoting meaningful exchanges between Italian and American business communities.
Visits such as this contribute to reinforcing the longstanding partnership between Italy and the United States, while creating new opportunities for cooperation in innovation, technology, investment, and sustainable economic growth.
