The Consulate General of Italy visit Meta’s headquarters

The future of artificial intelligence was the focus of a visit by the Consulate General of Italy in San Francisco’s visit to Meta’s headquarters, where Consul General Massimo Carnelos and Consul Davide Corriero met with Hugo Barra of Meta Superintelligence Labs and T.J. Won, Senior Director for AI Glasses & Wearables Partnerships.

The discussions explored the rapid evolution of artificial intelligence and the technologies shaping the next generation of digital experiences, including intelligent agents, wearable devices, and emerging AI-powered platforms that are expected to transform the way people interact with technology.

The meeting also provided an opportunity to exchange views on the pace of innovation in artificial intelligence and the importance of maintaining an open dialogue between institutions and technology leaders to better understand both the opportunities and the broader implications of these rapidly evolving technologies.

Particular attention was devoted to the contribution of Italian talent, engineering, creativity, and design to the development of many of the next-generation technologies emerging from Silicon Valley, reaffirming Italy’s growing role within the global innovation ecosystem.
