On March 3, 2026, the Consulate General of Italy in San Francisco joined forces with the Comites of San Francisco to host an “Open House” event in connection with the project of the “Sportello di Assistenza ai Connazionali”, offering Italian nationals across the region an inside look at consular services and operations. The event was held at Italian Community Services and connected online with participants in other parts of the consular jurisdiction, including Portland and Seattle, thanks to the coordination of local Comites members.
Consul General Massimo Carnelos, Consul Davide Corriero and Vice Consul for Consular Affairs Gabriella Navarra welcomed participants, sharing insights into the daily operations, challenges, and dedication of the Consulate General team in serving Italy’s growing community abroad. The event also highlighted the crucial role of Honorary Consuls and Consular Correspondents in ensuring efficient and effective consular assistance across a wide and diverse jurisdiction.
Attendees had the opportunity to ask questions both in person and online, fostering a direct dialogue between Italian institutions and citizens. The Open House underscored the Consulate General’s commitment to transparency, accessibility, and strong engagement with the Italian community.
The Consulate General extends its sincere thanks to Massimo Costetti, President of Comites San Francisco, the Comites members, and Giulia Rettagliati, manager of the Sportello di Assistenza ai Connazionali, for their dedication in making the evening meaningful and productive. Events such as this reinforce the Consulate General’s mission to build trust, foster cooperation, and maintain strong connections with Italians abroad.
