During Consul General Massimo Carnelos’ first official visit to Sacramento, California, he met with California State Treasurer Fiona Ma, reaffirming the strong and enduring partnership between Italy and the State of California.
A long-standing friend of Italy, Treasurer Ma has been a consistent supporter of Italian-American relations, particularly in business, technology, and science. The meeting reaffirmed a shared commitment to further deepening bilateral cooperation.
Discussions built on the solid foundation established through previous initiatives and recent exchanges, including Treasurer Ma’s recent mission to Italy, and underscored the importance of continued collaboration with her team.
Looking ahead, quantum technologies, artificial intelligence, nuclear fusion, robotics, and advanced manufacturing were identified as priority areas for expanding economic ties. In this context, INNOVIT – the Italian Innovation and Culture Hub in San Francisco will serve as a key platform to support cooperation across the Bay Area and beyond.
The Consul General expressed his sincere appreciation to Treasurer Ma and her staff and looks forward to continued, productive collaboration.
