From institutional engagements in the state capital to interactions with the local innovation ecosystem, the trip highlighted the vibrancy and strategic opportunities that Washington offers for transatlantic partnerships.<\/p>\n<p>During his visit to Olympia, Consul General Carnelos met with Lieutenant Governor Denny Heck, Treasurer Mike Pellicciotti, and State Senator Drew MacEwen. These meetings emphasized shared priorities in trade, innovation, and international cooperation, reflecting the strong foundation of Italy-Washington relations.<\/p>\n<p>A highlight of the trip was the opening of the Italian Pavilion at the Aerospace &amp; Defense Supplier Summit (ADSS) in Seattle, organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and ITA \u2013 Italian Trade Agency. The pavilion showcased 24 leading Italian aerospace companies and was followed by a reception co-hosted with Serena Corp. Consul General Carnelos highlighted the Pavilion\u2019s role in promoting Italian excellence and fostering networking and knowledge exchange.<\/p>\n<p>Consul General Carnelos also engaged with Italian scientists and researchers to relaunch the Seattle Chapter of ISSNAF in Northwestern America. His visit to the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center underscored the strong potential for collaborative research initiatives and innovation-driven partnerships between Italy and the United States.<\/p>\n<p>Further visits to the Port of Seattle with Karin Zaugg Black and to the Italian-American startup GemaTEG illustrated the dynamic intersection of commerce, technology, and entrepreneurship in the region, reinforcing the importance of connecting Italian talent and businesses with strategic opportunities in Washington.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, Consul General Carnelos addressed the Seattle Consular Corps on bridging the innovation gap between the European Union and the United States, emphasizing Italy\u2019s commitment to fostering dialogue, scientific collaboration, and economic partnerships.<\/p>\n<p>The visit demonstrated that Washington State is a hub of innovation, research, and entrepreneurship, offering significant opportunities for Italian companies, institutions, and scientists.
