To this end, it is recommended that you check and regularise your registry and address details at the competent consular office, preferably using the online portal of consular services\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/serviziconsolari.esteri.it\/ScoFE\/index.sco\">Fast It<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>As an alternative to voting by mail, voters registered with AIRE may CHOOSE TO VOTE IN ITALY IN THE ELECTORAL REGISTRATION MUNICIPALITY, communicating their choice (\u201c<em>OPZIONE<\/em>\u201c) in writing to the Consulate General no later than the 10th day after the calling of the elections.<\/strong>\u00a0Voters who choose to vote in Italy on the occasion of the next referendum will receive from their respective Italian municipalities the postcard-notice to vote at polling stations in Italy. The choice (\u201c<em>opzione<\/em>\u201c) to vote in Italy is valid only for the referendum with respect to which it is expressed.<\/p>\n<p>It is reiterated that in any case\u00a0<strong>the option MUST BE RECEIVED at the Consular Office NO LATER THAN TEN DAYS AFTER THE VOTING INITIATION, i.e. NO LATER THAN 10\/04\/2025.<\/strong>\u00a0This notice may be written on plain paper and \u2013 in order to be valid \u2013 must contain the voter\u2019s name, surname, date and place of birth, place of residence and signature, accompanied by a copy of an identity document of the declarant.<\/p>\n<p>For this communication, you may also use the special form that can be downloaded\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/conssanfrancisco.esteri.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/06.1-Modulo_di_opzione_Referendum_2025.doc\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The form, duly completed, signed and accompanied by an identity document, may be delivered\/sent:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>by hand: 2590 Webster St., San Francisco, CA 94115; luned\u00ec-venerd\u00ec dalle 09.00 alle 12:00<\/li>\n<li>by ordinary e-mail:\u00a0<a href=\"mailto: sanfrancisco.voto@esteri.it\">sanfrancisco.voto@esteri.it<\/a><\/li>\n<li>by certified e-mail (\u201c<em>Posta Elettronica Certificata \u2013 PEC<\/em>\u201c):\u00a0<a href=\"mailto: con.sanfrancisco@cert.esteri.it\">con.sanfrancisco@cert.esteri.it<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As required by the regulations in force, it will be the voters\u2019 responsibility to verify that the notice of option sent by post has been received in due time by their Consular Office.
